Benefits of Plants
Research has shown there are many benefits to plants in the workplace. Interior landscaping can make a significant improvement to the workplace environment and generally enhance people’s workday.
A brief summary of recent research:
•Plants purify and filter the air. They remove carbon dioxide and some of the harmful chemicals given off by office equipment and use of synthetic building materials. Chemicals like formaldehyde and benzene are removed.
•Plants give off oxygen. This makes people more alert in the workplace, which helps improve efficiently.
•Plants help make the interior atmosphere more humid. This improves breathing by reducing the amount of uncomfortable dry air in the office.
•Plants have a psychological benefit. Most people are happier, less stressed and more productive in a more natural environment.
•Plants absorb sound. A quiet workplace is easier to work in.
